The right yarn
With the yarn we have chosen for a cozy, warming blend of New Zealand merino wool and cashmere decided. The socks are soft, warm very comfortably and do not scratch the skin. At the same time they are thick, as you would expect from house socks. As wool is a sensitive material, but house socks have to withstand a lot, we have chosen the yarn synthetically reinforced.
Decisive details: Toes and calf
The socks reach up to just below the calf - so that you can wear them in the evening as couch socks to lounge around on the sofa, but also as bed socks, hut socks and and and. Special attention is paid to the cuff and shaft. The socks are without cutting rubber band designed and very suitable for sensitive calves. The shaft is knitted in such a way that it fits snugly to the calf and does not slip. The toes are in 3D knitting process extra bulged and different sizes and lengths. The fabric applies something to the toes and opens the spaces between the toes. This allows air to penetrate and provides more balanced temperature and you sweat less. Any perspiration produced is bound by the merino yarn without the sock feeling damp or cooling down. The natural Keratin of merino wool has a self-cleaning effect and prevents the development of odours.
Also suitable for outside?
Our house socks are designed for indoor use. There is nothing wrong with using them in shoesPlease note, however, that the socks apply a little on the toe area. We therefore recommend wide shoes. In tight shoes, there can easily be friction points where the material rubs through. As wool socks for outside we recommend our Enduraoutdoor toe socks or Wool socks which apply less force.
The right care
Please note that wool is by nature a sensitive material. Our house socks are reinforced with synthetic yarns, but please take care to handle them carefully and maintain them properly.
The toe socks are washable up to 30°C, we recommend a wool wash cycle and wool detergent. These toe socks are made larger and then shrunk by hot air. As a rule, they do not shrink further during washing. Laundry bags protect against greedy washing machines. Do not iron or tumble dry. Wash on the right side, if necessary take the toes out of the inside of the sock before washing. Attention: Never cut off the threads inside the socks. Please note: Wool yarns have a tendency to become too soft due to their fibre structure. Pilling especially where there is friction.
